Abstract:	The article is dedicated to consideration of applied aspects of teaching of compulsory disciplines in conditions of working with adult audience. An analysis of competences in the methodical system of teaching of the educational discipline “Ukrainian Language for Professional Purposes” at institutions of postgraduate education has been conducted. The necessity of orientation towards the educational paradigm of competences and activity approach to teaching has been substantiated.
