Abstract: | The sustainable development principle is considered as one of the special in the environmental law and is widely defined internationally as development that aims to “meet the needs of the present while not compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. The Sustainable Development Summit of the UN, which was held in September, 2015, approved new development targets. 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were identified and published in the Summit final document, namely “Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. Ukraine, like the UN Member State, joined the global process of sustainable development and adapted the SDGs to the Ukrainian context where every global target was reviewed including the consideration the national context peculiarities. Thus, this research aims at analyzing how the sustainable development principle is displayed in legislation and law enforcement practice in Ukraine and how it is implemented in regulation of environmental legal relations. Results of this research can be used by students, lecturers, scientists and practitioners in the process of studying, discovering and overcoming the environmental issues connected with implementation of sustainable development principle. |
