dc.description.abstractIn the article, through the illustrated analysis of works by Stepan Protsiuk, Nadia Bila, Olga Kupriian, Oksana Lushchevska, one of the trends of contemporary prose for children and youth is demonstrated. Modern writers mark their texts focusing on gender's signs, deal with the gender issues, empharsize on different types and models of male / boys and female / girls' behavior, gender manifestations, while appealing to young readers of both sexes. The toolkit of gender approaches allows you to discover new textual and non-textual aspects and trends in the development of modern literature for young readers. The gender poetics of the text, the model of boys-girls relationship, the artistic disclosure of gender identity problem, the heroes' growing-up, that is developed through the prism of gender interactions, are characterised in the article. The same attention was paid to the writers'coverage of the girls and boys' psychology, the dominance of realistic and psychological plot components, the specifics of compositional construction of texts and the gender balance of the language and narration style.uk_UA
