Abstract

With the introduction of the Common Rail system, the diesel engine has significantly improved its performance - fuel consumption, engine noise and exhaust gas toxicity have decreased. The main advantage of this system is a wide range of adjustment of fuel pressure and injection start time, which are achieved by separating the pressure creation and injection processes. The study showed that despite the advantages, there are a number of issues that need improvement.
